We sorrowfully report the passing of an incredible man, Les Paul. Words cannot express what a loss this is to the entire music world. He lived a long and amazing life... he will live on in music and the electric guitar will forever be his legacy.
Ace Frehley said, "The music industry has lost a giant! I'm very saddened by the news of Les Paul's passing. I was lucky enough to have known Les as a friend, and admired him as a musician and innovator. He forever changed the way we listen to music."

ACE FREHLEY And MEAT LOAF Confirmed As Headliners For Rock N' Roll Fantasy Camp
Here's the latest press release from Rock N' Roll Fantasy Camp!
I'm very excited to premier our new newsletter and to announce our talent lineup for the November 2009 camps, and I know you’ll be excited to hear the news: MEAT LOAF, JON ANDERSON and ACE FREHLEY have signed on to be our headliners! And, we’ve got more options for you this time around. For the first time in Rock N' Roll Fantasy Camp history, our November Los Angeles camps will come in two sizes: a 3-½ day camp (happening November 12th - 15th) as well as the traditional 5½-day camp (happening November 17th - 22nd).
Our 3½-day camp will feature the one-and-only original KISS guitarist, Ace Frehley. Not only is his trademark black-white-and-silver facepaint one of the most recognizable images in rock history, he is the only axeman who has played on every major KISS album. In addition to his history-making work with KISS, Ace has a successful solo career and is currently putting the final touches on his next album, Anomoly, set to be released in September. Those of you who choose the 3½-day camp will meet the legendary guitarist (along with many other rockstars), record at Capitol Studios, and perform on the Sunset Strip at the legend Whisky A Go Go.

Here's an excerpt from ACE's Q&A with MagnetMagazine:
"You were initially reluctant to record “New York Groove,” a Russ Ballard song that would give you a top-20 single, for your first solo album in 1978. Why was that? And what does it feel like to hear the song played over the P.A. at these huge New York City sporting events?
Eddie Kramer talked me into recording that song … and he was right! [Laughs] I was the first musician to play on the grounds of the new Yankee Stadium earlier this year. You’d never guess what song I performed!
You have to sit through one of these in its entirety or you will be killed: Kiss Meets The Phantom or (Music From) The Elder. Which one do you pick, and why?
I just saw the Phantom movie for the first time in years a few weeks ago. I can’t speak for the other guys in the band, but I think it’s a campy, cult classic. I think its great. I just visited Magic Mountain this year, and a lot of memories about filming that movie came flooding back to me. The new coaster rides are awesome.
What does the future hold for Ace Frehley?
Anomaly, the record and the world tour. I can’t wait for everyone to hear this new record. I’m very proud of it."
Here's the latest word from ACE himself in an interview with Bravewords' Mitch Lafon:
excerpt:Mitch Lafon: You’ve made a great hard rock album with no outside vocalists. Was it important to make this a true Ace Frehley album?
Ace Frehley: “I think that’s what the fans wanted, so that’s what I went for. My touring drummer Scott Cogan did a wonderful job of background vocals on ‘Sister’ and ‘Pain In The Neck’ and there’s a couple of gals singing on ‘Genghis Khan’, but pretty much I did all the vocals and backgrounds. ”
ML: Was it challenging to sing all the vocals? I know, at times, with KISS you were hesitant to cut a vocal and on your previous solo albums you had outside singers. Do you have more confidence in your voice now?
AF: “Oh, yeah. It wasn’t scary at all and it was fun being in charge and producing. If I had hired a producer the album might have been finished a whole lot sooner, but it was great to have the creative control and be able to try different things with my voice and harmonize with myself. It’s always a pleasure (laughs).”
That's right, the day after Anomaly's release...listen to some ACE...and then... Listen to ACE!! Sounds like the perfect plan to us! :)
Ace is scheduled to guest on the US nationally syndicated radio show Rockline, with host Bob Coburn, on September 16th at 8:30 PM (PT) / 11:30 PM (ET). Fans are encouraged to speak with the band by calling 1-800-344-ROCK (7625). For a station near you and for information regarding how to log onto the internet for the broadcast go to RocklineRadio.com.

R.I.P. Hope A Hacker!! A special tribute to a special friend!
SpaceAceOnline is very saddened to have to report the untimely death of an amazing person, Hope Hacker best known to the online KISS community as Paul Stanley's biggest fan.
What in the world does this have to do with Ace Frehley you may ask... Well Hope was an avid supporter of SpaceAceOnline since the day we opened the site way back in 2000 man... She was also an amazing person we here at SAO feel privileged to have met, and her passing has compelled us to celebrate her life the only way we can, by sharing some of Hope with all of you!
During some of our phone conversations, we'd always debate who was the best "Paul" in KISS... She was as adamant that it was Paul Stanley as I was that it was Paul Frehley... In the end we always just decided it was a draw for peace's sake... So one day she surprised me by sending a special piece of her graphic artwork to show how well the 2 Pauls merged by using one of my favorite pictures of our young Spaceman unmasked.... She masked him in a Hope-ified way:
Then a couple of years ago on my birthday, which just happens to be on the same day as Her Paul's birthday, she sent me another special graphic:
Following we are also going to include a few of her other amazing graphics that she had done in the past that have always been in our photo gallery... The last one is very special to me, because when I first "found" the internet back in 1998 there were only like 3 KISS websites out there, KOL, KISS Asylum and Hope's Paul Stanley page. I loved Hope's page the first time I saw it and fell in love with one of her amazing graphics that she had titled Guardian Of The Gods.... As she moved her loving Tribute to Paul Stanley around to different servers online, some how that particular graphic got lost in the shuffle and she made a new one. One time when we talked on the phone I had asked her about the original one she made and she said she thought it was lost. But because she knew I loved it so much, so spent over a month searching through her stuff and finally found it and sent it to me.... I know she is now up there with Eric Carr watching over Our 4 originals (Ace, Paul, Peter, and yeah even Gene) keeping them safe!!!
RIP Ms. Hope A Hacker... The SAO Chix love and miss you!!!
I'm going to be involved in a very cool benefit concert in April that I want you guys to know about..........Here's all the info if you want to join us..........Be safe.........
