is it "that time of the month" for you?
the term "rock n roll" has a very broad meaning. it was coined back in the 1950's to describe "popular music" from buddy holly (peggy sue) to the beatles all the way through to metallica. which one meets
rock n roll criteria? "she loves you" (beatles) or "kiss on my list" (hall & oates)? do they compare at all in any way to "iron man" (sabbath)?
it's hard to draw a line between what we call rock n roll, disco, punk, new age, pop, or anything else. how do you categorize blondie? new age? disco? pop? rap? if someone's music is enjoyed by millions it should be celebrated as such. it should just be called "the music hall of fame". a place where musicians, songwriters and singers can be recognized for their talents.
anyway, that's my opinion.
