I'm not really up on any newer groups, but I always thought Raging Slab deserved more credit than they got. Sorry, I know. Off topic, but not very.

you`ll have to do better than that ive heard of both of those bands ,in fact im sure i saw raging slab support some band a few (quite a few )years back  :)

im trying to get some musical inspiration ,ive found that ive ended up listening to the same stuff at work and need some different directions to go in ,im not bothered if there new bands or old just stuff ive not heard of something possibly inspirational ....be warned ive heard of a lot of bands though so youll have to dig deep

That was the best I had, Cry of Love was from the early to mid 90's and when I play it at parties or something everyone wants to know who it is. They really rocked but Nervana came along and killed rock and roll before they caught on.

I can send you tons of stuff that I know for a fact you have never heard.  Every last one of them are local bands.  One is Rock al la Matchbox20 and the others a mix of Celtic, Celtic rock, Rock, and Folk.  Let me know and I can e-mail you some samples.

The La's.

They're known mostly only for "There She Goes", which in the US was most recently a hit again because there was a fucking terrible cover of it by "Sixpence None the Richer", who completely castrated the song and made it into gentle chick-rock worthy of a duet with Cinder Calhoun (SNL character).

But the original La's version is great, and their one and only album is just absolutely fucking STUNNING. There are at least 6 songs on the album that just break your heart and give you a reason to live at the same time.

Sometimes some of the other La's songs pop up in commecials and films, and get covered by bands like Pearl Jam, who were performing "Timeless Melody" a lot a few years ago.

I'd highly recommend the La's album to anyone who is into slightly strange jangly guitar-pop.

Well since you said ANY kind of music... try Hayseed Dixe. They are a bluegrass band, they have a tribute to KISS called Kiss My Grass. They also have a tribute to AC/DC and a compilation CD with songs from Joan Jatt, Spinal Tap, Queen, and others, there are also 2 originals on that CD that are a riot. one is called "Poop in a Jar" That CD is called "A Tribute To Mountain Love"

Cool, I'm not a big fan of bluegrass but I like it once in a while. I have "Tribute to mountain Love" and "KISS my Grass" Those guys just crack me up. I'll check out the site you mentioned. Lord knows my CD collection needs some new blood.
